Removal, installation and adjustment of the drive of a butterfly valve

The drive of gas is very sensitive to excesses. Therefore at installation it is necessary to handle with it very with care. The excess can lead to break of a cable subsequently. Therefore the cables having excesses should not be put.

The cars having automatic adjustment of speed of the movement "Tempostat" for the lever of a butterfly valve have an additional drive of gas. If it is necessary, it is disconnected to similarly ordinary drive of gas.

The diesel engine 320d has no gas drive. Position of the accelerator pedal is transmitted to a control system through the pedal sensor.


 REMOVAL

1 Models 316i, 318i: Unscrew screws of fastening-1-at an element of a butterfly valve and uncover-2-.

2 Give gas on the lever of a butterfly valve (the shooter on an illustration) to unload draft of gas.

3 Squeeze a plastic clip on levels-1-, take out from an opening of the lever of a butterfly valve and remove from draft-2-.
4 Take out draft through a groove on the lever.

5 Take out a cover with the adjusting screw-1-from the rubber plug-2-on a support back. Take out sideways the rubber plug from a support.


 INSTALLATION

6 Insert the rubber plug into a support.
7 Put on a plastic clip through draft.
8 Give a little gas on the lever of a butterfly valve. Insert a cable through a groove and record a plastic clip.
9 Check adjustment of the drive of gas, if necessary adjust.
10 Models 316i, 318i: Fix a cover on knot of a butterfly valve.


 ADJUSTMENT

11 The lever of a butterfly valve has to adjoin to an emphasis of idling and the drive of gas has to be slightly tense. If necessary turn the adjusting screw-1-on a support so that draft stretched.
12 After that screw the adjusting screw-1-on 1/4 turns. Now draft has a small side play. Having pulled for a draft cover, it is possible to define a side play. The side play should not exceed 3 mm then the lever of a butterfly valve has to begin to move.
13 Ask the assistant to press the accelerator pedal completely. At the same time the lever of a butterfly valve has to reach position of the maximum gas. Otherwise it is necessary to tighten draft of gas a little.

HUNDRED are checked by the provision of full gas by connection of the diagnostic unit which checks the angle of opening of a butterfly valve through indications of a potentiometer of the gate.

14 Cars with AT: Pass on the car and check operation of the device kik-Down. If AT at inclusion of full gas does not switch to low transfer, it is necessary to address on HUNDRED for carrying out adjustments of the drive of gas.
