Springs on one axis need to be replaced only parno and with the same number BMW. Number is put on the end of a spring.


When replacing it is necessary to install shock-absorbers only of one execution and identical execution. Designation is given in the sticker which is on a shock-absorber pipe. In the second line of a sticker number of the spare part, in the third line a code of execution of a running gear is specified: 4Z/6Z-Sport - the 4/6-cylinder engine a sports running gear. In the lower line costs R or L for the right or left shock-absorber respectively, at a look in the direction of the movement.

 REMOVAL

1 Remove a depreciation rack, address the Section Removal and installation of a depreciation rack.

2 To remove the shock-absorber, it is necessary to squeeze a spring. The spring contracts by means of adaptation, for example, of HAZET 4900. The specified adaptation needs to be clamped in a vice, as shown in an illustration. It is necessary to apply plastic linings of HAZET to protection of a surface of a spring.

Do not remove the shock-absorber at all if the spring is not compressed.

Insert the device for compression in spring rounds so that rounds were reliably captured and adaptation could not slip out. Adaptation is under big loading therefore it is necessary to apply only the reliable tool. Do not squeeze adaptation a wire at all. There is a danger of accident!

Adaptation should be squeezed only until the support is unloaded. Do not squeeze adaptation against the stop at all, that is rounds of a spring should not concern each other.

3 Turn off a fastening nut a cap key, holding at the same time a rod from a provorachivaniye a face key.

The nut has the big moment of an otvorachivaniye. If necessary it is possible to shift a nut blow of the hammer to a key. 1 – a dynamometer key, 2 – the device for compression, BMW-31-2-210.

4 Remove a support with a sealing ring and a washer.
5 Remove the top plate of a spring.
6 Take out the shock-absorber from a spring.

If it is necessary to replace only a spring, slowly weaken a spring. If it is necessary to replace only the shock-absorber, the spring has to remain compressed.

7 Remove a plastic spring, a cover and the lower lining of a spring.


 INSTALLATION

8 The new spring has a sheeting against corrosion. Before installation check a sheeting of springs and if necessary restore it.
9 Check existence of damages of a cover. A plastic spring and linings under a spring. If necessary replace.
10 Enter the shock-absorber with the lower lining of a spring, a plastic spring and a cover into the compressed spring.
11 Collect a depreciation rack. You watch that the spring adjoined to ledges of the lower and top plates of a spring.
12 Screw the new self-stopped nut aflush on a shock-absorber rod.
13 Slowly weaken a spring so that it adjoined to plates. You monitor the correct provision of a lining of a spring (rectangular grooves).

14 Tighten a fastening nut the moment of 65 N • m, holding a rod from a provorachivaniye. HUNDRED applies a head of BMW-312210 or HAZET-2927 to observance of the moment of an inhaling.

15 Completely weaken a spring and remove adaptation.
16 Establish into place a depreciation rack.
