Removal of air from the brake system

After carrying out repair of the brake system as a result of which pipelines disappeared air can get to system. In this case air needs to be removed. Points soft breakdown of a pedal of a brake to availability of air in the brake system. In this case leakage should be eliminated and removed from system air.

If air got into ABS hydraulic system, it is necessary to remove air from reasons of safety on HUNDRED. It takes place with leakage in the hydraulic block or if the tank of brake fluid was emptied or if during removal of air forgot to add liquid to the tank.


Air from the brake system is removed the kachatelny movements of a pedal of a brake what requires the help of the assistant.
On HUNDRED air from the brake system is removed, as a rule, by means of the special device. By means of such device in system via the tank for brake fluid pressure to 2.0 bars is created.

If it is necessary to remove air from all system, air separately is removed from each brake.

It becomes surely when air got into each separate support. If only one support, as a rule, was replaced or under repair enough to remove air from the corresponding support.

Sequence of removal of air:


— The support is back right.
— The support is back left.
— The support is forward right.
— The support is forward left.

1 Remove a dustproof cap from the union for removal of air. Clear the union, put on it a pure hose, lower other end of a hose in the bottle half filled with brake fluid. The corresponding hose and capacity are available on sale.

2 Ask the assistant to press a brake pedal so many time how many it is necessary for creation in system of pressure. It is felt on brake pedal resistance.
3 As soon as pressure is reached, press a pedal a leg and do not release it.
4 Unscrew half way the union for removal of air a cap key, for example the Following liquid collect HAZET I968-7 in a bottle. You watch that the end of a hose constantly was in a bottle lower than the level of liquid. If the system is opened, it is noticeable by a brake pedal pliability.
5 As soon as pressure of liquid begins to fall, close the union.
6 Repeat process of a rating of system until in system pressure is not created. Press a pedal of a brake and leave on it a leg. Open the union of removal of air. Open the union until pressure begins to fall. After that close the union.
7 Repeat process of removal of air until in the brake fluid coming to capacity for pumping there are no air bubbles.
8 After completion of process of pumping remove a hose from the union and put on a protective cap the union.

In the course of removal of air periodically you watch the tank for brake fluid. Level of liquid should not go down significantly. Otherwise air can get to system. Add in system surely only new brake fluid!

9 Air from other supports is removed similarly.

10 After completion of process of removal of air in the tank it is necessary to add liquid to the mark "MAH". Check a condition of sealing laying-1 covers of the tank.

11 After removal of air from system when pressing a brake pedal it should not go softly down. If it occurs, it is necessary to repeat process of removal of air once again.

— Whether brake hoses are fixed?
— Whether the brake hose is fixed in the holder?
— Whether unions for removal of air are tightened?
— Whether enough brake fluid is filled in?
— On the working engine check tightness. For this purpose press a brake pedal by effort of 200 - 300 N (20 – 30 kg) during 10 pages. The pedal should not weaken. Check all accessions for tightness.

Brake fluid should not pour out or be thrown out with household waste at all. Local authorities inform drivers on places of its possible utilization.

12 In conclusion execute several braking on the road with not heavy traffic of transport. At the same time it is necessary to execute, at least, one strong braking with ABS use (you recognize by a brake pedal pulsation).
