BMW 3 Series E46

1 Disconnect a level on a wing by means of the wide plastic pallet.
2 Remove the side repeater of turn, address the Section Replacement of Glow Lamps of External Lighting.
3 Remove a headlight, address the Section Removal and installation of a headlight.
4 Remove upward protection of an edge.
5 Mark paint the provision of the corresponding forward wheel concerning a nave. It will allow to establish at assembly the balanced wheel in its former situation. Weaken bolts of fastening of a wheel at the car standing on the earth. Lift a forward part of the car, put it on supports and remove a forward wheel.

6 Remove a loker of a wing at a longitudinal beam. For this purpose take out the small screw-driver clips-1-and-2-. At first take out a pin from the center of a clip, and then take out a clip. The clip-2-on an illustration is closed by a level.

7 Turn off a nut-3-and a bolt-4-. Disconnect the lower cover of a motive compartment in a point-5-, address the Section Removal and installation of the lower cover of a motive compartment.

8 Turn off bolts of fastening-1-and remove a forward peak of an arch of a wheel-2-. Turn out an additional bolt in a forward part from below. On an illustration the bolt is not visible.

9 Turn off fastening bolts-4 loker of a wing-3-. Take out clips-5-, at the same time at first take out pins, and then clips.

10 Open a door and through a crack turn off a fastening bolt (the shooter on an illustration) on a rack - And-.

11 Turn out three self-tapping screws 22 mm long-3-and one self-tapping the screw 19 mm long-4-.

12 Turn out the top screws of fastening Torx-2 of a wing-1-. 5 – nuts from sheet material.
13 Thanks to existence of a sheeting of the bottom the wing is reliably fixed. The hair dryer creating temperature not less than 400 °C is necessary for a detachment of a wing.
14 Install the hair dryer with a flat nozzle in the top and back region of a wing and soften a sheeting. After that remove from below in a forward part of a prileganiye of a wing a sheeting. It is important to make it in the specified place, otherwise at removal the wing can distend.
15 Remove a wing.

16 Clear the adjacent surfaces of a wing, if necessary you will correct.
17 If necessary coat a wing.
18 In places of a prileganiye lay a usual sealing tape.
19 Establish a wing into place, you will expose approximately and slightly fix by bolts.
20 You will expose a wing, at the same time you watch a uniform gap in relation to a door and a cowl, address Specifications.
21 Tighten all bolts of fastening of a wing.
22 Apply a sheeting on the internal surface of a wing.
23 Fix by bolts a loker of a wing and a forward peak of an arch of a wheel. Insert clips and press aflush pins.
24 Establish into place a forward wheel so that the markings put at removal coincided. Previously grease with a thin layer of bearing lubricant the aligning wheel disk belt on a nave. Do not grease bolts of fastening of a wheel. Replace rusty bolts. Wrap bolts. Lower the car on wheels and tighten bolts cross-wise the moment of 100 N • m.
25 Put on from above an element of protection of edges.
26 Establish a headlight, address the Section Removal and installation of a headlight.
27 Install the side repeater of turn, address the Section Replacement of Glow Lamps of External Lighting.
28 Put on a level a wing.
